Summary

Responsible for the overall maintenance and appearance of parks, park structures, facilities, and grounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides instruction to crewmembers to ensures proper maintenance of park structures, facilities, and grounds
• Performs maintenance duties to improve parks systems and monitors the facility to ensure it remains safe, secure, and well-maintained
• Plans and schedules work assignments
• Creates work plans and reviews payroll sheets, and leave forms for crewmembers, as well as details of personnel actions such as performance evaluations, hires, promotions, and disciplinary actions
• Enters information on the park division’s mainframe tracking program (MAINTRAC).
• Obtains prices and purchases materials needed to accomplish assignments to complete construction projects
• Conducts and coordinates bi-weekly park maintenance inspections
• Administers the Parks Division Safety Program, plans, and presents safety training for employees; enforces safety rules and procedures
• Supports special events, to include scheduling employees to work both the city and private events, and coordinates the set up and take down of the portable stage for rentals
• Follow all safety policies and procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Four (4) years of experience in landscape maintenance, general maintenance, painting, welding, scheduling
• Three (3) years Supervisory experience

• Valid driver’s license
• Department of Agriculture Pesticide Applicators License or the ability to obtain within introductory period
