Position Summary
Richland Soccer Complex is seeking a dependable, motivated Groundskeeper I to help maintain our athletic fields and surrounding grounds. This position plays a vital role in providing safe, clean, and high-quality playing surfaces for athletes and visitors. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and can effectively work as part of a team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the Richland Soccer Complex.
- Water turf, plants, flowers, and landscaped areas using irrigation systems or manual methods as needed.
- Mow, edge, and trim turf areas to maintain professional playing conditions.
- Remove weeds using manual, mechanical, or chemical methods.
- Perform planting, sodding, seeding, and other landscape installation and maintenance tasks.
- Operate, monitor, and assist in maintaining irrigation systems.
- Assist with athletic field maintenance, including turf repairs and field preparation.
- Mix and apply fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and insecticides according to instructions and safety guidelines.
- Operate a variety of grounds maintenance equipment safely and efficiently.
- Clean, inspect, and properly store all equipment after use.
- Maintain organized and clean equipment storage areas.
- Remove litter, debris, and other waste from the property to ensure a clean environment.
- Perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance related to irrigation systems and athletic fields.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, athletic field maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and complete assignments efficiently.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays when required to support field operations and events.
- Ability to follow directions and maintain a safe work environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, stoop, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity.
- Ability to safely operate grounds maintenance equipment.
