Sports Field Solutions (SFS) is headquartered in Fort Worth, TX.  SFS specializes in natural grass, sports field construction. Our projects range from small renovations on high school fields throughout Texas to multi-million dollar facilities. We have the honor of calling the Texas Rangers, Baylor University, University of North Texas, and the University of Texas at San Antonio among our clients.

SFS is seeking candidates for the position of Crew Member at our Ft. Worth Location.

Qualifications:

  • Landscape/Construction experience preferred but not necessary
  • Experience/willingness to operate equipment in the field
  • Sports Turf/Golf Course maintenance preferred
  • Valid Drivers License, or the ability to attain one
  • Ability to handle physical labor in an outdoor climate for an extended amount of time
  • Ability to lift/handle 50+ pounds in certain situations

Job description:

  • Grinding/Sharpening reel-type and rotary-type cutting units
  • Preventative maintenance on all gas and diesel engines to include:
    • Oil changes
    • Filter changes
    • Hydraulic hose inspections/replacements
    • Height of cut inspections
  • Maintain an up to date, accurate records of the preventative maintenance practices
  • Maintain a clean, organized and functional work space in the shop. This includes office spaces, work benches and equipment
  • Training/oversight of two assistant mechanics in all operations
  • Basic fabrication and welding
  • Electrical trouble shooting
  • Operating a budget with fiscal responsibility and flexibility
  • Ability to order parts and maintain inventory of essential parts
  • Track and order fuel inventory

Requirements:

  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of computers
  • Ability to bend, reach and stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to work in stressful situations with time sensitive repairs
  • May be asked to work some weekends, holidays or stay late for critical repairs to be completed
  • Maintain safe and organized working environment
  • Keep detailed records of orders and repairs

First Assistant Superintendent — The Woodlands Country Club (Gary Player Course)

 

The Woodlands Country Club’s Player course is seeking a First Assistant Superintendent.  The Player Course is one of three facilities that comprise The Woodlands Country Club. The 18 Hole Player Course consists of Tif-Eagle greens, 419 fairways and roughs, and a combination of 419 and zoysia tees with Toro LTC Plus irrigation system.

We are looking for a dedicated individual with a desire to become a Golf Course Superintendent to join our team. Strong leadership, work ethic, and attention to detail are important traits we are looking for in the right candidate. We provide a great environment to learn, grow, and have potential to move up within company.

The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for assisting the Superintendent in the operating functions of the Golf Course Maintenance Department to ensure the healthy growth of the golf course & Clubhouse Grounds grasses, trees, wetlands, and other plant materials. The duties include turfgrass/plant material maintenance programs, property/asset management, assisting with forecasting and expense management, scheduling and maintenance of irrigation systems, pesticide applications, related recordings, and compliance of regulatory issues as directed by the Superintendent. The Assistant Superintendent will participate in the hiring, training and developing all staff, including ensuring the staff is working within OSHA, club safety, state and federal guidelines for safe working conditions.

Education: 2 or 4 year degree from accredited program

Experience: 1-2 years as Assistant or successfully completed quality internships

Salary: Hourly $14-16 plus depending on experience, 45-50 plus hours a week
